For the record, I've changed my mind.. it might be less distracting to me if the shirtless men had buddha bellies than if they had hard, chiseled abs... but I stand by my stance against thongs. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04009348454148093818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8472650269693325361.post-88943891297484419372010-06-10T15:13:24.859-07:002010-06-10T15:13:24.859-07:00and on shirts.....well - first I don't do well...and on shirts.....well - first I don't do well at matching things (shirts and pants/shorts). I'm a little color blind and didn't get that jean to design - so shirtless is easiest and yes my classes are hot and sweaty and now here's the but but but....I just taught at a conference where I felt that it was more respectful to not be a distraction, especially since I am inked and wore shirts to my workshops. To the too tight lookin' like a (word I never use that was mentioned on here)....most of my clothes are a bit on the baggier side. All this said - actually what else I did not mention is that I would love to create a line of clothing for men because there are some things about everything I discussed that I would do a little different. So, whoever wants to go into business with me and is a clothing designer and all that, let me know and let's create comfort in clothing that does not make men feel like they are a "D". No man that has ever taken my class feels like that - come check it out - you will feel empowred, comforted, soothed, massaged and worked from the head to the heart, inside out from one life to another. Oh and one more bitty - bring me all the shirtless buddha bellies - everyone has the right to be in class wearing whatever they want to - Ok that guy who did the thong last year had my eye brow shifting up but he was happy.......Les Leventhalhttp://yogawithles.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8472650269693325361.post-66324924272032839892010-06-09T20:08:49.480-07:002010-06-09T20:08:49.480-07:00Carrie, Thanks! You are sweet to say that!
Bob, I...Carrie, Thanks! You are sweet to say that!

Bob, I've often pondered the no-shirt thing, too. IMHO, it's OK for only certain men in only certain circumstances to go shirtless... It had better be a hot and sweaty class, and he had better be in shape and mildly attractive or I, for one, am a little offended. Thanks for your comment!

April, My husband is scared of looking like a douche, too! So he just avoids yoga altogether.. I hope whoever invented those awful shorts is proud of himself!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04009348454148093818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8472650269693325361.post-47835821244929990432010-06-09T09:36:11.137-07:002010-06-09T09:36:11.137-07:00My husband has the hardest time finding yoga cloth...My husband has the hardest time finding yoga clothes because he refuses to wear the tight little shorts and "doesn't want to look like a douche". We have found for the most part that most companies carry piles and piles of options for women, and a couple plain pairs of pants for guys. It's kind of annoying to shop through such few options, but we totally agree with Les' top choices of lulu and prana ♥Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08878186459075511028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8472650269693325361.post-60009790741306046072010-06-09T05:57:06.776-07:002010-06-09T05:57:06.776-07:00Thanks, Erica. What a responsive blogger you are!...Thanks, Erica. What a responsive blogger you are! One little tounge-in-cheek complaint, and I get a whole blog in response.

The key to Yoga fashion for men seems to be no shirt. I already learned this from Mark Whitwall's website. You notice Les doesn't even mention shirts, just pants and shorts.

My problem is I never go shopping. So I will never have any Yoga clothes unless my wife buys them for me. I don't have to fight the desire for fine clothes because I never had any desire in the first place.

Plus I come from a sport, tennis, where the best club players always have the ratiest clothes and the 15 year old racquets!

I enjoyed this blog nonetheless, and Les' website is very interesting.
